Welcome to all our New Neighbors!
Located within the southern part of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the Kings Mill– Morgan Creek Neighborhood is a special place to live. This website introduces you to our neighborhood and provides information for residents, prospective residents, and visitors.
Throughout the site, we quote noted singer and composer James Taylor, who was raised in our neighborhood in the early 1960s. The lyrics are from his song, "Copperline", in which he describes returning to his childhood home only to find it destroyed by unbridled development. We are thankful that this is fiction. In fact, Mr. Taylor visited a few years ago to dedicate the James Taylor Bridge over Morgan Creek. He found the neighborhood mostly unchanged from his childhood. We have a strong, active Neighborhood Association in part to see that James Taylor’s ominous prediction never comes true. The association is dedicated to maintaining the character of our neighborhood and to representing our interests on issues that affect us, the nearby University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Town of Chapel Hill. |
